Disney have confirmed The Lion King will be getting a remake following the success of The Jungle Book. The movie was originally released in 1994 creating a name for itself as the biggest animated film of all time grossing over $100 million at the box office.
U.S award winning singer, Beyonce, will play the role of Nala, in the upcoming remake of Disney’s classic animated film. She will star alongside an A-list cast featuring Donald Glover Aka Childish Gambino as Simba, Chiwetal Ejiofor as Scar and James Earl Jones returns as Mufasa in the 1994 animated classic.
The live-action remake is scheduled to be released in July 2019 and will be directed by Jon Favreau, who led the reboot of The Jungle Book.
